Packed for move to New Jersey - March 19, 2011

In October 2008 we received the donation of the home layout of popular television broadcaster and avid train collector Tom Snyder. This beautiful large scale tin plate layout has been on temporary display in our downstairs room since then. Regretably our plans for a more permanent display have fallen through. We came to the conclusion that it deserves a better home and after a search with the co-operation of the original donor, found a wonderful new home in New Jersey with:

Here are pictures of the dismantling of the layout and packing for shipment

The disassembled layout with the accompanying large collection of equipment and display cabinets was packed into a 53 ft railroad container. The container will be trucked to a railroad intermodal yard at Oakland and then moved by rail to a New Jersey yard. The final leg to NJ Hirailer's facility in Paterson NJ will be by truck, about 40 miles northwest of New York city.
