Overhead valence was planned for lighting. When we first got the building, it came with an architectural report, stating that the roof was not designed to carry any more weight. The idea was to suspend layout accent lighting from the top of the posts (somehow). Thankfully, we decided on a more open approach. (John Morrison, 31 Aug 12)
